Motion Design

Since 2020, motion design has been an important part of my design skill set. Below is a selection of projects I’ve worked on at the RSM. Each one uses a combination of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro to bring visual impact and energy to event marketing and communications.

The RSM runs over 150 events each year. For the most high-profile events, enhanced marketing support is essential. These hero events often incorporate motion design in their promotional materials and on-the-day (OTD) graphics to help them stand out on social media and elevate the overall event experience and exhibition. Here are a selection of the best ones I have worked on:

Events Marketing

In 2020, with the sudden pause in in-person events due to the pandemic, the RSM had to rapidly pivot and highlight its digital offerings. These two animations were created as part of that campaign, and they represent the first longer-form animations I produced.

Membership Marketing

Sometimes short animated infographics are the best way to convey complex information. These two examples illustrate contrasting developments during the reign of Queen Elizabeth III. The first highlights the many medical innovations that took place during her time, many of which the RSM played a role in developing. The second shows how, over the same period, the UK’s life expectancy ranking has unfortunately plummeted compared to much of the G7.

The RSM Library regularly hosts exhibitions, and to help publicise these, I put together short-form interviews with the curators. These interviews allow them to talk about themselves, their work, and what visitors can expect to find in the exhibitions.
