Annual Reports
The Royal Society of Medicine
2017 - 2025
Since 2017, I have had creative control over the RSM’s annual reports. While these reports primarily serve a legal function, outlining the organisation’s financial position as a charity, they also provide an important platform to celebrate achievements from the past year and act as a valuable tool for fundraising. As part of these reports I have to work alongside colleagues from all areas of the business to ensure accuracy, particularly the finance reporting sections where a strong attention to detail is essential
The examples below are taken from the 2021/22 and 2022/23 editions. Their stripped-back, minimalist design is a progression of the creative direction set out in the RSM’s 2021–2026 Strategy. These reports were created during the Covid-19 years, when commissioning new photography was a challenge. As a result, I produced a series of simple illustrations as a way to bring in fresh visual elements. This approach not only reflected the constraints of the time, but also allowed me to incorporate my personal passion for illustration into my professional work.
The covers, in particular, marked a departure from the RSM’s previous style, helping drive engagement among members and donors by visually conveying the return of people to the building.
All of the reports I have produced for the RSM can be found here.
