Croydon Sluglink
Croydon Sluglink - a British Transport Dystopia (2025)
So the original plan for insect week was to finish a new drawing for every day of the week, it was a self imposed target obviously but I thought it might rectify my poor work rate this year. But sadly like most plans, that all fell apart, and now it looks like I’m posting my second mollusc based drawing in a week that should have been about celebrating insects. Disgraceful behaviour. Right now from where I am, there’s a horde of entomologist coming down Anerley Hill with flaming torches desperate to discuss things with me. There’s another horde of limacologists with pitchforks on their way from Sydenham. No doubts there’s discussion amongst the lepidopterists of South Norwood, trying to work out if I have slighted moths too this week… which only leaves one insect this week
Anyway, here’s another miniature creature drawing, that neatly fits in to my new ‘British Transport Dystopia’ Series (more on that soon). For all of my drawings I essentially draw what I want to draw, without thinking about selling prints of them to anyone, but with this one I think I have hit the jackpot:
Who doesn’t love trams? I know I do and I wish there were more of them, and it looks like there soon will be! The Coventry Very Light Rail system looks very exciting
Who doesn’t want pictures of beautiful slugs on their walls? Ok maybe on slightly shaky ground there…
Who doesn’t want a souvenir from their latest trip to Croydon? Erm…
Anyway here are some slugs attacking the Croydon Tramlink (also known now as London Trams, but that sounds pretty vague). I do not know why they are doing this, they just are. And I can think of several people right now who I wouldn’t mind their tram journey being delayed by giant trams, but lets not get into that.
Barring a miracle, or a bout of insomnia, Insect Week is over for me this year. See you next year
